What half-life actually tells you
Half-life is the time it takes for the amount of a compound in the body to fall by half. It is a rate, not an expiry date. After one half-life half remains; after two, a quarter; after three, an eighth. Nothing switches off at the end.
This is the single biggest reason two compounds at the same amount behave completely differently across a week. Sermorelin at roughly 15 minutes is effectively gone before the hour is out. Semaglutide at about 7 days is still substantially present when the next weekly dose lands — which is why levels build for several weeks before settling.
Time to clear is roughly five half-lives
The convention is that after about five half-lives around 3% of the original amount remains, which is usually treated as cleared. That is what the time-to-clear column shows. It is arithmetic on a published estimate, not a measurement of you.
Half-life and activity window are not the same thing
Half-life describes how fast something leaves. The activity window describes how long the downstream response may last, and it is often much longer. TB-500 is the clearest example in the table: a roughly 2-hour half-life against a 48-hour activity window, because what it sets in motion outlives the compound itself. A chart drawn only on half-life would show almost nothing; that is why PepTrack models both.
What each band means for logging
Grouping by duration is the practical way to read the table. The point is not what to take — it is how much your record needs to capture.
Very short
Levels fall away within hours, so the time of day you log matters as much as the date.
Short
Typically logged once or twice daily; little carries over between days.
Medium
Daily or every-other-day cadence; some overlap builds between doses.
Long
A few times a week is common; levels clearly accumulate.
Very long
Weekly cadence is typical, and levels stack for weeks before levelling off.

What is a peptide half-life?

How long does it take a peptide to clear?

Does this tell me how often to dose?
No. It describes pharmacokinetic behaviour and what that implies for recordkeeping. It does not recommend compounds, amounts, or schedules — that belongs with a qualified healthcare professional.
