Why cost per mg is the only fair comparison
Sticker price tells you almost nothing, because vials are not sold in a consistent size. A $60 vial and a $95 vial are not comparable until you know whether they hold 5 mg or 15 mg. Normalising to cost per milligram is the only way to put two listings side by side.
The arithmetic is deliberately simple:
The formula
cost per mg = total price ÷ (vials × mg per vial)
Five 5 mg vials for $180 is 25 mg total, so $180 ÷ 25 = $7.20 per mg.
Include shipping, or the comparison lies
Shipping is where bulk pricing quietly wins or loses. A cheaper per-vial price with $35 shipping on a single vial is often worse than a higher price across five. Put the full amount you paid into the price field rather than the listed unit price.
Cost per dose is the number you actually feel
Cost per mg is right for comparing sellers, but it is abstract. What lands is cost per dose and cost per month, which depend on the amount you measure out. A 10 mg vial at a great per-mg rate is poor value if the routine only ever uses a fraction of it before the vial is finished.
What this does not account for
Purity, testing, storage losses, and whether a vial gets used before it is discarded are all real costs this calculator cannot see. Two products at an identical cost per mg are not necessarily equivalent, and the cheaper number is not automatically the better buy.

Does a lower cost per mg mean a better product?
